St. Louis Starbucks shooter committed other robberies before murder: police
The man suspected of fatally shooting a woman during a hold-up in a Starbucks drive-thru in St. Louis committed two more armed robberies in the area prior to the murder, police said in documents released Wednesday.
Keith Brown, 58, was charged with first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree robbery and several other crimes, local Fox affiliate KTVI reported. He was captured early Wednesday morning, less than 24 hours after the drive-thru killing.
Sam Linehan, a figure skating coach with local club Metro Edge Figure Skating, was killed in the attack around 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to local NBC affiliate KSDK. She was sitting in her car in a Starbucks drive-thru when Brown approached her with a weapon, police said.
Investigators said Brown demanded she put her hands up, then shot and killed her anyways, KSDK reported. He then took the woman’s bank cards and driver’s license before fleeing the scene, authorities said.
After cops arrested White, they tied him to two other robberies in the previous four days, one at a Dollar General and another in a Jack in the Box drive-thru line, according to KTVI.
Police said on Feb. 6, White approached a drive-thru customer at a Jack in the Box, pulled his gun and demanded property from the victims, KSDK reported. A woman and her daughter handed over a purse, a handgun and cellphones.
Two days later, White robbed a Dollar General cashier and took off with a handful of cash, police said.
White was ordered held without bail on Wednesday following his arraignment.
